Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Exploring Golden Gate Park

After having eaten all of the delicious food Dafny mentioned in our previous post on Hakkasan Restaurant, we were feeling the need to 1) enjoy the beautiful weather before returning to Seattle rain, and 2) burn off some of those previously consumed calories! So we opted to make our way over to San Francisco Park, as we had never been before.

It started off as just an aimless drive through the park, getting a feel for what kind of plants and terrain we'd be dealing with. After a couple of wrong turns, we came across an amphitheater of aggressively trimmed trees, near the De Young Museum.

It was very unusual, and I'm not sure why they were cut in that way. There was a central walkway that lead straight towards a building that wouldn't look out of place somewhere in Europe (it said Germany to me for some odd reason). Whatever it was for, it was very impressive.

Nearby was the Japanese Gardens, which was so beautiful that it will get its own post next. As a preview, here is a picture of the main entrance, with your obligatory funky hipster fixed-gear bicycle rider:

After touring the Gardens, we started to make our way out of the park to get to the airport. But right before we hit the western edge, we stumbled across a traditional-style windmill!

It also had a nice flowered area next to it, arranged in an interesting fashion.

Stay tuned for our next update on the Japanese Gardens!
