Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!
The Setting: Top of Le Brevent
2,525 metres up on top of Le Brevent in the French Alps, this ceremony site is breathtaking
The Wedding March
Witnessed by a hundred or so visitors of Le Brevent at the time, the wedding party made their way down the graveled path.
Bride & Groom
The beaming couple walking down the "aisle". The lady in the photo is the wedding planner, who did a lot of the arrangements in Chamonix per the the bride's instructions.
Live String Music!
The romantic tone of the event was tied together by this trio of excellent musicians.
For the Love of Tequila
Having tequila shots at in appropriate places is part of the couple's tradition. So as part of the wedding ceremony, we all got to toss back a shot in their honor.
The Wedding Kiss
Mr. & Mrs. Ralph & Bailey Blakely!
Some Serious Bromance
The men huddled to keep themselves warm. It's the few weddings when the men weren't sweltering in their outfits.
The Dilleys and the Vogels
The experiences we shared together during this trip will be remembered for the rest of our lives. We are blessed with such wonderful friends!
Romance is in the air!
Bride and Groom share a kiss as their wedding party looks on.
Love takes us everywhere.
We had to take two different gondola lines to get to where we were.
Nathan & Lorene
Lorene is Ralph's sister. They're world travelers with very interesting stories.
To the gondola!
Lorene holding Bailey's train as we all made our way to the first gondola to take us down the mountain.
That Ad!
This ad by the gondola waiting area was icing on the cake. :D
Altitude signs
This place was no joke.
Down we go!
This was the start of our thawing process. We all piled in the gondola very grateful to be insulated from the cold.
Snack time!
These blue bag were thoughtfully filled with snacks and a bottle of water + the gondola ticket.
The Photographers
This husband and wife team of photographers from Hampshire, UK were more than happy to travel to France to cover Bailey & Ralph's special day.
Partially down
This hopefully gives you an idea how high we were
