On Tuesday, August 12th, 2014, our friends Ralph and Bailey tied the knot 2,500 meters up (about 8,200 feet) on top of Le Brevent, one of the mountain peaks in the French Alps. There were about 20 of us including the bride and groom, but the event was witnessed by the hundred or so more tourists, who happened to be up on that mountain.
All we can say is, we didn't know that a wedding on top of a mountain was on our bucket list. It was a romantic affair set in the most breathtaking background. It was freezing, but that did not dampen all of our excitement and joy for these two lovely people. In fact, the whole thing screamed Ralph and Bailey. For two adventurous souls who met at Steph's and Aaron's wedding a couple of years ago, it was only appropriate that Aaron officiated the ceremony on this mountain peak. (Actually, we also met Ralph at the Dilleys' wedding reception as he was seated on the same table as us. We recall giving Bailey a ride to the after-party, and apparently, Ralph was a little disappointed because he wanted to drive Bailey over). We are honored to have been invited to take part in this event that we will remember for years and years.
Here are some of the photos that D took from the ceremony. Just click on photo to view next.
The next entry will be the reception and the food! Stay tuned. ;)
